About The Role

North Yorkshire Council has a national reputation for excellence in children’s services. The role involves working with families on a short‑term basis, completing assessments, and on a longer‑term basis working on Child and Family Plans and Child Protection Plans, including pre‑proceeding work and issuing care proceedings. We work with all young people from birth up to 18 and maintain strong links with external agencies.

Requirements

We look for professionals who collaborate with families and young people, and who join our extensive training and learning offer to support social workers. The team is supported by a Team Manager, Practice Supervisors, and dedicated business support to enable social workers to spend more time with children, young people and families. Supervision policies include regular group and individual supervisions, County Wide practice model sessions, and appreciative enquiry conversations.
