Salary: £25,989 to £27,254 pro rata per annum

Hours: 2 x part time positions available – 6 hours & 9 hours per week

The Role
You will work within North Yorkshire Council’s Leisure Services team to engage, facilitate, educate, and support clients in the gym environment. You will be line managed by the Duty Manager. The role involves supervision of customers, ensuring their safety and satisfaction whilst always following North Yorkshire Council’s policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and supervise all activities associated within the gym, observing safe working practices, ensuring the health and safety and wellbeing of all users.
- Check and authorise health forms.
- Work effectively within the team and forge excellent working relationships.
- Adapt your approach to different ages/abilities and be sensitive to individual needs.
Skills and Experience
- At least a Level 2 Gym Instructor Qualification.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Ability to demonstrate high levels of customer service at all times.
- Reliable, enthusiastic, self‑motivated and approachable.
- Capability to work unsupervised and show initiative.
