Scarborough Spa is a multi-use venue holding many different functions and events throughout the year. The grade 2 listed heritage building is made up of a large hall, a 550-seat theatre, a large ballroom, wedding spaces and smaller meeting rooms in a stunning seaside location.
About the Role
Within the venue, there are multiple bars with tailored menus to service each space and type of show. From fully stocked bars in our Ocean Room and Sun Court, to gorgeous VIP lounges for special events, quick-service kiosks, and pop-up bars for a variety of festivals, the Bars and Catering department deliver outstanding service in exceptional atmospheres. Scarborough Spa also has a fully operational bar/restaurant, Farrers, which is open all year round. Farrers is a popular café during the day, a restaurant with a unique menu for pre-show dining at night, and a main bar for festivals in all seasons, serving a variety of first-time visitors and regular guests.
The post holder will be in a Supervisory role and a main part of the Farrers and Bars management, working alongside the other supervisors and a team of around 40 staff. Main duties will include:
- cashing up tills
- rota work and staffing
- maintaining cleanliness of work and service areas
- stock management
- managing guest bookings
- onboarding new staff and training staff on new procedures
- being a point person for staff and guest needs on shift
- ensuring all aspects of Scarborough Spa’s catering service are delivered to a high standard as directed by management
Experience in a similar supervisory role, managing operations with attention to detail and leading a team with enthusiasm is preferred. The rota is varied and flexible, with weekends and evening work expected.
