As our Parks and Grounds Development Officer you will be part of a team who will support the management and improvement of the community assets within our park and open spaces. You will play a key role in delivering the Council’s ambition to be the most local, largest council in England.

As part of a team, you will:

  • Manage income and expenditure from developer contributions in relation to open spaces

  • Coordinate clear communications with Town and Parish Councils in relation to available S106 Commuted Sums and how that money is allocated.

  • Coordinate all quality assessments of sites and record keeping in terms of Planning Policy and allocation of S106 Commuted Sums.

  • Coordinate improvement projects on our assets and open spaces

This role will include some evening and weekend work (outside of normal office hours) and travel across North Yorkshire.

The posts are classified as suitable for hybrid working with an office base at one of the local Council Offices. You will:

  • Have excellent written and verbal skills, with computer skills using specialist software as well as Microsoft Office products

  • Be numerically astute with ability to monitor budgets/record keeping and expenditure

  • Have accurate record keeping and organisational skills.

  • Be Influential, confident and self-motivated

The work will require an organised and motivated aptitude, excellent partnership and influencing skills, strong management capability, and the willingness and ability to work flexibly including some evenings and occasional weekends.
