Due to continued growth within our service, we are seeking a talented and ambitious colleague to join our Local Government Home team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of recruitment within local government, particularly as we are nearing the final stages of implementing our new recruitment system, which will bring fresh innovation, improved processes, and an enhanced experience for both candidates and hiring managers.

This role offers a fantastic platform to further develop your recruitment expertise within our multi award‑winning team. We are a unique, modern, and forward‑thinking in‑house recruitment service, definitely not a traditional recruitment team! We operate flexibly, offering hybrid working arrangements that enable us to support North Yorkshire Council and our partners effectively. As a Recruitment Officer, you will provide expert advice and guidance to both candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment journey. You will work closely with the wider Resourcing Solutions team, taking ownership of your own day‑to‑day responsibilities. Acting as a subject matter expert for recruitment and resourcing queries, you will build strong working relationships with stakeholders, collaborate effectively with partners and colleagues, and lead compelling recruitment campaigns to attract and secure outstanding talent.

To be successful as a Recruitment Officer, you will:

  • Have previous recruitment and client management experience, with the confidence to influence decision‑making
  • Be a subject matter expert, using your knowledge to offer informed advice across a wide range of issues
  • Have experience managing a high volume of tasks in a fast‑paced environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to work successfully with stakeholders at various levels
  • Possess strong problem‑solving skills, using your initiative to deliver bespoke solutions
  • Have a proven track record of providing excellent customer service
  • Be proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel

You will be based at our Northallerton Office, working a combination of office and home days each week.
