This is a role where your support genuinely shapes the confidence, skills and success of others.
This is a varied role. Day-to-day, you will work from home and in employer settings, planning your own workload to deliver outstanding coaching and assessment.
- Coach and assess a caseload of adult learners, completing initial assessments and creating Individual Learning Plans.
- Provide engaging learning and assessment, including observations, professional discussions and tripartite reviews, ensuring evidence meets qualification standards.
- Use Onefile e-portfolio to track progress, quality-assure evidence and maintain accurate, compliant records.
- Work closely with the Quality Team to meet awarding body, funding, safeguarding and Prevent requirements, contributing to standardisation and continuous improvement.
- Build effective relationships with managers and workplace mentors, removing barriers, planning off-the-job learning and celebrating success.
- Champion inclusion and neurodiversity, implementing reasonable adjustments.
- Engage in continuing professional development (CPD), share best practice and maintain sector competence.

As part of the role, you will bring a dedicated and positive approach to training and adult learning, using your influence to motivate teams to prioritise and invest in their ongoing development.
- Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Adult Health & Social Care (or higher).
- Have (or are motivated to achieve) an Assessor qualification such as CAVA/TAQA – and we will fully fund and support you through induction, training, shadowing and mentoring.
- A confident communicator and organiser with strong customer care skills and attention to detail.
- Digitally fluent, adaptable, and able to manage priorities, meet deadlines and maintain high-quality records.
- Flexible and agile, able to support a diverse workforce across a large and varied county.
This is a hybrid and flexible role. You’ll have a base at one of our North Yorkshire Council locations, with the ability to work from home and other suitable locations. The role will involve travel across the county as needed for operation needs of observation, occasional meetings and CPD.
