Do you have some spare time in the morning and/or afternoon? Would you love a role where you can be a hero to young children and adults? If so, we are looking for a School Crossing Patrol who wants to make a difference at Aspin Park Academy School. Ideally, you would cover both the morning and afternoon duties, but if you can’t work both, we can offer flexibility and would still be interested in hearing from you if you can only commit to one duty a day.
The role:
- Check the operation of amber flashing lights (where appropriate) and report any malfunctions to the School Crossing Patrol Officer.
- Carry out a 'pre-duty' Health and Safety risk assessment to ensure the site is safe to work at, and report any concerns identified to the School Crossing Patrol Officer.
- Control and marshal children at the crossing point.
- Stop traffic on the Highway by using 'STOP' sign.
Duty times: 8.05am – 8.55am and 3.00pm – 3.30pm Mon – Fri (Term time). We may be able to offer flexibility; if you can only work mornings or cannot work every weekday, we would still be interested in hearing from you. Many of our crossing patrol staff often find the role hugely rewarding and sociable, and we are sure you will too.
