North Yorkshire Council's Adoption Service is looking for a social worker to join their Scarborough team. We promote flexible working with the option to work remotely from home at times. While your base will be identified within a specific location, you may be required to work from other bases across the county.

North Yorkshire Council has a national reputation for excellence, and we are seeking a Social Worker with diverse experience and skills to join our Adoption Team. We also welcome applicants considering relocation. Our adoption service is part of One Adoption North and Humber, a high-performing regional adoption agency.

One Adoption North and Humber is committed to providing timely, high-quality services to children in need of permanence through adoption. You will be part of a highly regarded, supportive service that offers a comprehensive induction program. The Adoption Service ensures ongoing support from managers, and opportunities for career progression.

We value staff development and offer various training opportunities, including trauma-informed practice models and approaches to enhance service delivery to children and adoptive families.

Working in the adoption team is an exciting, challenging, unique, and rewarding role. It provides opportunities to undertake assessments of prospective adopters, deliver adoption support services, provide preparation training for prospective adoptive parents, and support the matching and placement of children.
