An experienced female care assistant is needed to support a young lady with severe health conditions, including learning difficulties and epilepsy, who requires 24/7 care on a 2:1 basis. The hours available are 30 night-time hours per week, plus extra hours to cover holidays and sickness of other staff members. Please note the lady lives in her family home in Cayton, Scarborough. The personal assistant must have access to a car as there is little public transport available.
The night shifts are:
- Friday, Saturday, Tuesday: 8 pm till 6 am
The rate of pay is £14.70 per hour, and the bank holiday rate is £22.05 per hour. It is essential that the successful applicant has some knowledge of epilepsy and learning difficulties. It would be preferable to have first aid, moving and handling, and administration of medication training.
You will occasionally be asked to help cover extra monitoring for seizures, which can be unpredictable and severe, requiring 2:1 care staff when they occur.
