Located in Helmsley, North Yorkshire, the North York Moors National Park Authority helps to look after one of the most phenomenal parts of the British Isles. Filled with beautiful moorlands and fantastic woodland, the North York Moors is a unique area with a diversity of landscape and wildlife.
We are now looking for an Administrative Support Officer to join us on a permanent, part-time basis, working 30 hours per week, to suit the successful candidate.
The Benefits
- Salary of £20,420 - £21,072 for 30 hours/week (£25,185 - £25,989 FTE)
- 25 days annual leave, rising annually by one day to 30 days after five years service, plus public holidays (pro rata)

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised administrator with strong customer service skills and experience supporting a busy team to join our dedicated organisation. The Role
As an Administrative Support Officer, you will provide flexible, high-quality administrative and customer service support across our Corporate Services and the wider Authority. Initially supporting the Volunteering Team as a key service area, you will act as the central point of contact for volunteers, managing enquiries and supporting positive engagement. You will be responsible for maintaining the volunteer database, coordinating communications and newsletters, advertising volunteering opportunities, and supporting core volunteering processes such as payments, data management and stock coordination. You will help ensure systems and processes are followed, accurate and well-maintained.
Additionally, you will:
- Provide clear information and signposting to volunteers and customers
- Collect, maintain and report service-related data
- Assist with surveys, feedback collection and basic analysis
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures
About You
To be considered as an Administrative Support Officer, you will need:
- Experience providing administrative support to a busy team
- Experience managing a varied workload of administrative tasks and prioritising to meet deadlines
- Experience maintaining accurate records and systems and handling personal and confidential information appropriately
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- At a minimum, GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English
