The North York Moors National Park Authority helps to care for one of the UKs most distinctive protected landscapes. Spanning 554 square miles, the National Park is home to expansive heather moorland, woodland, remote dales, historic villages and dramatic coastline, and plays an important role in supporting nature, communities and sustainable access for visitors.
We are now looking for an Executive and Democratic Services Team Leader to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
- 25 days annual leave, rising annually by one day to 30 days after five years service, plus public holidays

With responsibility spanning executive support, democratic services and office management, you'll have the chance to broaden your leadership experience at the heart of the Authority and gain valuable exposure to high-level governance and decision-making.
As the Executive and Democratic Services Team Leader, you will lead our executive, democratic and administrative support services, ensuring effective governance and high-quality support for Members and senior leaders.
Overseeing executive support for the Chief Executive Officer, Chairman and Senior Leadership Team, you will manage diaries, meetings, travel and correspondence. You will also lead the planning and delivery of Member meetings, training programmes and community forums, maintaining strong communication with Members and key stakeholders.
- Co-ordinate administrative workloads across corporate and planning teams
- Organise Parish and Community Forums
- Manage the Committee Services and stationery budgets
- Ensure governance processes are delivered in line with statutory requirements
To be considered as our Executive and Democratic Services Team Leader, you will need:
- Experience managing a small team and co-ordinating day-to-day administrative or office management activity
- Experience working effectively with senior managers, providing co-ordination and support within your own area of responsibility
- Experience building effective working relationships with members, trustees, committee members or senior stakeholders
- Confidence to lead the CEO and Directors on annual plans for member training, seminar programmes, Parish/Community forums, etc.
