About the Role
Would you like to join our friendly Tearoom Team, offering a first-class visitor experience to our customers, whilst working at one of Britain’s most popular Heritage Railways?
We are currently recruiting seasonal tearoom assistants for our Grosmont Station Tearooms, reporting to the tearoom supervisor. We are looking for candidates with previous experience in a fast paced catering environment, who can work weekends.
You Will
- Assist in all areas of basic food and beverage preparation and service.
- Provide a counter service to visitors and working members of the NYMR in a friendly, professional & profitable manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the premises, to clean and wipe tables & keep the tearoom clean and well stocked.
- Follow all health & safety procedures, ensuring good food hygiene practices are adhered to at all times, ensuring the tearoom retains its level 5 food standard rating.

The Hours
We are looking for someone to cover various shifts, 2 days to Full-time hours and will include some weekends. Grosmont shifts are usually 6-8 hours long.
Hours are available until 4th November 2026.
