The College is currently seeking applications from interested individuals for Part-time Lecturers in funded projects to assess student needs, plan and prepare teaching and learning programmes for groups and individuals and manage the learning process within the classes you are assigned.The College are seeking applications for the following curriculum areas in several funded projects:Community Development (daytime and evening hours)Youth Work (evening hours)

Responsibilities

  • Carry out teaching duties for the appropriate subject in either the vocational or non-vocational areas.
  • Provide learners with support, develop and use a range of teaching and learning techniques and assess learning outcomes.
  • Be responsible for marking the class register(s) for their class(es).
  • Set and mark appropriate assessments and keep a record of class marks awarded.
  • Draw up a scheme of work for the class at the beginning of the session and submit a copy to the Line Manager for approval.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Level 5 qualification in the area of Community Development with 1 years experience in a community development settingORLevel 3 qualification in the area of Community Development with 3 years experience in a community development setting.
  • Level 5 qualification in the area of Youth Work with 1 years experience working with young people.ORLevel 3 qualification in the area of Youth Work with 3 years experience working with young people.
  • Have GCSE English (Grade C or higher) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent.
  • Have GCSE Maths (Grade C or higher) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS AccessMaths Modules, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent.
  • Have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education or equivalent qualification recognised for teaching in the Northern Ireland FE Sector or be currently registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI).
