The College is seeking applications for a Lecturer in Science based in our Strand Road Campus on a fixed term basis for 2 years.The post holder will provide quality teaching and learning opportunities within the specific areas outlined in the post in order to maximise the potential of every student and to undertake non-lecturing duties as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development, organisation and delivery of the Science curriculum across the College leading to the award of various qualifications relating to own specialism/s
- Attend meetings on matters relating to students, course co-ordination, management, assessment and development
- Participate in the marketing of and recruitment to courses within the subject/programme area
- Act as a course manager/co-ordinator
- Undertake assessor and verifier duties
Skills and Qualifications
- Have a University Degree in the specialist area or equivalent qualification OR at least a Level 5 qualification in the specialist area AND three years relevant industrial, professional or teaching experience
- Have GCSE English (Grade C or higher) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent
- Have GCSE Maths (Grade C or higher) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS Access Maths Modules, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent
- Have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education or equivalent qualification recognised for teaching in the Northern Ireland FE SectorORBe currently registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI)
