About the role

Reporting to the Senior Engineer – Mobile Maintenance, the Reliability Officer plays a critical role in driving reliability, availability and performance of Ernest Henry’s underground mobile fleet. The role blends trade-based technical expertise, planning input, data capture and continuous improvement with strong, visible engagement on the maintenance floor. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role and is not suited to someone seeking an office‑only position. Success comes from understanding equipment condition in the field, working closely with crews, and translating observations into meaningful reliability improvements that support safe, efficient production.

Key responsibilities

  • Acting as a reliability focal point for underground mobile maintenance assets
  • Driving improvement in mobile fleet availability and maintenance quality
  • Supporting planning and execution of both routine and non‑routine maintenance work
  • Ensuring maintenance tasks are completed correctly and documented accurately in CMMS
  • Identifying emerging equipment issues, failure trends and reliability risks
  • Capturing, analysing and reporting maintenance data to support decision making
  • Supporting improvement initiatives, component change‑outs and reliability projects
  • Working collaboratively with supervisors, planners, engineers and contractors

About you

You are a trade‑qualified maintenance professional who takes pride in doing work properly and is motivated by improving equipment reliability rather than simply responding to breakdowns. You are comfortable working independently, communicating clearly, and spending the majority of your time on the maintenance floor supporting crews and supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter or equivalent
  • Strong underground mobile maintenance experience
  • Current S1, S2, S3 certifications
  • Proven ability to use CMMS systems (Pronto preferred)
  • Ability to analyse maintenance data and identify trends
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Genuine commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
