Planning Policy and Land Charges Team Manager
Shape the future of one of the Midlands’ most ambitious districts. North West Leicestershire is a district that’s growing fast and thinking big. Home to the UK’s only inland Freeport, East Midlands Airport, Donington Park and the National Forest, we’re planning for major regeneration in Coalville and a new strategic settlement near the airport.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and inspire the Planning Policy and Land Charges team.
- Drive the Local Plan through submission, examination and adoption.
- Oversee Section 106 monitoring ensuring contributions are secured.
- Support and guide the high‑performing Land Charges service.
- Collaborate with Members, senior officers and regional partners.
- Represent the council at committees, hearings and examinations.
What we’re looking for
- Comfortable leading complex and high‑profile projects.
- Experience preparing and delivering Local Plans.
- Strong communication, leadership and project management skills.
- A calm pragmatic approach and the ability to motivate others.
- Either managing a team or ready to step up to take real ownership of a major Local Plan.
