Licensing Assistant (part-time, two-year temporary contract)
North West Leicestershire District Council is a busy council, working across our communities to help people and businesses thrive. We are looking for a Licensing Assistant to administer and support enforcement tasks relating to many areas of licensing including alcohol and entertainment, taxis, gambling and street trading.
The successful candidate will process licence applications received both digitally and paper based. Tasks include data inputting using Idox Uniform and liaising with customers both face to face, by email and over the telephone. Reporting to the Licensing Team Leader, you will support the council’s Licensing Officers in determining licence applications and undertaking appropriate enforcement work whilst following legislative processes and timeframes.
We are looking for someone with strong administrative skills and recent experience of working in an environment where they regularly communicate with customers. Some knowledge of licensing law and procedures is required.
• 18.125 hrs per week with an annual salary of £12,792 – £13,634pa (pro rata to length of contract) (Full-time equivalent £25,584 – £27,269pa) (pay award pending)
• Agile working scheme with a combination of home and office working
• 124 hours of holiday per year (including bank holidays) increasing to 138 hours after 5 years (pro rata to length of contract)
