Tree Officer

You are looking for a Tree Officer to join our busy Planning and Development Team, located in the heart of the National Forest. You will play a vital role in safeguarding the District’s natural environment, providing expert arboricultural advice on protected trees and landscaping to the team and to customers. You will also have a caseload of tree-related applications. The role also offers the chance to help shape a vibrant and sustainable future for our communities through the protection and sustainable management of the natural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide arboricultural advice on protected trees and landscaping to the team and to customers.
  • Manage a caseload of tree-related applications.
  • Safeguard the District’s natural environment.
  • Shape a vibrant and sustainable future for our communities through the protection and sustainable management of the natural environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working within a Planning Team in a local authority.
  • Solid understanding of current planning legislation and policy relating to Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and trees in conservation areas.
  • A recognised qualification in arboriculture or similar to degree level or equivalent.

  • 36.25 hrs per week with a starting annual salary of £37,280 (pay award pending)
