We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead exciting projects and campaigns that encourage residents, businesses, schools and community groups to reduce waste and recycle more. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of waste and recycling services across North West Leicestershire.

As our Recycle More Officer, you will:

  • Lead and deliver recycling, waste reduction and environmental improvement projects.
  • Develop and coordinate creative communication and behaviour-change campaigns.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, schools, businesses, community groups and partner organisations.
  • Organise community events, roadshows, presentations and engagement activities.
  • Monitor and analyse performance data to identify opportunities for service improvement.
  • Provide specialist advice on recycling, waste legislation and industry best practice.
  • Support service reviews, policy development and transformation projects.
  • Represent the Council at meetings, events and consultations at local, regional and national level.

What we are looking for:

  • Has experience delivering projects and campaigns from planning through to evaluation.

You need to be willing to travel throughout the district. Experience in waste management, recycling, community engagement, environmental services, education, communications or behavioural change initiatives would be particularly advantageous.

36.25 hrs per week with a starting annual salary of £29,189 (pay award pending). Agile working scheme with a combination of home and office working. 34 days holiday (including bank holidays) increasing to 38 days after 5 years (full time equivalent).
