North West Leicestershire District Council is a busy council, working across our communities to help people and businesses thrive. We are looking for a Painter (Multi Skilled Preferred) to join our busy and dedicated team responsible for a wide range of repairs, maintenance, and improvement works to the council’s tenanted housing stock. Most of the work will be carried out in occupied homes, with some tasks in vacant properties.

Ideally, you will be an experienced Painter who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service. As a Painter with North West Leicestershire District Council, you will play a key role in ensuring our tenants receive a safe, well-maintained home and a positive repairs experience. You’ll work within our “Right First Time” ethos, completing repairs to the required trade standards, accurately recording your work on a handheld device, and supporting our commitment to continuous improvement. Preference will be given to multi-skilled candidates able to complete additional tasks within our Multi-Skill framework.

Responsibilities

  • Hold an NVQ/City & Guilds in Painting (or equivalent), or approximately 5 years’ demonstrable time served trade experience OR Apprenticeship or time served experience carrying out painting, repairs and maintenance in domestic/residential properties.
  • Hold a full and valid UK driving licence.

  • 37 hours per week with an annual salary starting at ÂŁ34,396
  • 34 days holiday (including bank holidays) increasing to 38 days after 5 years (full time equivalent)
