North West Leicestershire District Council leads a successful shared internal audit service with our partners Blaby District Council and Charnwood Borough Council. This role is critical to the continuing success of the shared service and as part of our team you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with internal controls and safeguarding the councils' assets. You will work across all three sites building valuable relationships with officers, senior managers and Councillors.
We are looking for someone with an AAT qualification (as a minimum level 2) and/or local authority experience with relevant, demonstrable skills that can be transferred to an internal audit service. You need to be able to effectively plan and organise your work in order to meet deadlines and be flexible and able to respond should an unexpected urgent audit need arise. You must have a full UK driving licence and have a car available during work time to travel between sites as required.
Details:
- 36.25 hrs per week
- Annual salary of £28,598 (role also includes a market supplement enhancement)
- Agile working scheme with a combination of home and office working
- 34 days holiday (including bank holidays) increasing to 38 days after 5 years (full time equivalent)
