We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to join our Housing Choices Team to support our statutory homelessness functions. This includes working with customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to help them find suitable housing solutions, ensuring the council meets its obligations under homelessness legislation, and verifying compliance with Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homeless Reduction Act 2017.
Key responsibilities
- Discharge statutory homelessness functions in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Work with customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to find housing solutions that meet their needs.
- Ensure the council fulfills obligations under homelessness legislation.
Requirements
- Understanding and experience of working under Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homeless Reduction Act 2017.
- Customer‑focused approach.
Working hours & pay
- 36.25 hours per week.
- Annual salary starting at £32,597 (band £32,597‑£36,363).
- Agile working scheme with a combination of home and office working.
- 34 days holiday (including bank holidays) increasing to 38 days after 5 years (full‑time equivalent).
