Responsibilities:
- Support other areas of the team where needed, particularly Education law.
- Have personal responsibility for a caseload of complex and non‑complex legal work; act as a subject expert with appropriate support and supervision.
- Handle matters related to vulnerable adults, including Court of Protection matters, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983.
- Help supervise and contribute to the development of Trainee Lawyers.
- Report to the Senior Lawyer for the Adult Social Care and Litigation team.
- Provide proactive, solution‑focused advice supporting the delivery of the Council’s priorities and policies.
- Advise on legal matters relevant to public and local government law, including information governance and public law challenges.
- Support the Director of City Law.
