An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced vehicle technician to join the team at our Cumbria workshop facility.
The role of NWAS Vehicle Technician is to ensure all Trust vehicles (Petrol / Diesel / Hybrid and EV) are serviced, repaired and maintained to the Trust and DVSA’s exacting standards. The post incorporates the skilled service and repair of specialist ambulance equipment.
Qualifications
- Hold a recognised apprenticeship e.g. Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience along with NVQ or C&G level 3 qualifications.
- A full UK driving license is essential for this post along with having full category C1 entitlement.

About NWAS
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport. Our highly skilled staff provide life‑saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed. We also provide non‑emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non‑emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need. Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident. We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West.
Operational Requirements
Workshops cover 365 days per year via a rotating shift pattern which attracts an additional salary uplift of approximately 12.5% on top of the basic salary banding.
