We are currently looking for experienced qualified Emergency Medical Technicians to work across the North West region of England. This is a permanent contract and hours will consist of shift work.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the delivery of high quality and effective pre-hospital clinical care and patient transportation, responding to 999 emergencies, inter-hospital transfers, urgent hospital admissions and other allocated patient interventions.
- Using advanced driving skills under blue light and normal traffic conditions to respond to and transport emergency and routine calls as required.
- Working as a crew or solo, initiating appropriate care and effective treatment to patients in both hospital and pre-hospital environments, selecting and applying appropriate skills and equipment safely and within the appropriate level of training, competency and scope of practice.
Requirements:
- You must have an IHCD technician award or an Associate Ambulance Practitioner (AAP) qualification with recent experience working as an ambulance technician in an NHS ambulance service.
- Any person with a drink driving conviction in the last five years and/or more than 6 points on their licence will not be considered for the role.
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport. Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed. We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
