North West Ambulance Service is recruiting HCPC Registered Paramedics to join our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), delivering specialist paramedic level care in high‑risk and challenging environments. This role requires individuals who are resilient, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure while working in complex incidents involving hazardous materials, confined spaces, height, or water. You will work as part of a highly skilled, close‑knit team alongside partner agencies, demonstrating excellent teamwork, communication, and decision‑making skills. You will respond to major and critical incidents regionally and, where required, nationally. Candidates must be physically fit, professionally driven, and committed to maintaining high clinical and operational standards. This is a unique opportunity to develop your current skills and operate at the forefront of pre‑hospital emergency care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist paramedic level care in high‑risk, hazardous environments.
  • Respond to major and critical incidents regionally and nationally.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies, demonstrating strong teamwork, communication and decision‑making skills.
  • Maintain high clinical and operational standards while working under pressure.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • HCPC registered paramedic (or equivalent qualification).
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in hazardous, confined or high‑risk environments.
  • Professional drive and commitment to high clinical and operational standards.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and decision‑making skills.

  • W/C 11/05/2026 – Online Clinical Multiple Choice Exam.
  • 08/06/26 & 09/06/2026 – Practical Assessments (provisionally Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service Long Lane and Liverpool Watersports Centre).
  • W/C 15/06/2026 – OSCE & Professional Discussion assessments.
  • W/C 22/06/2026 – Conditional Offer of Employment.
  • 27/07/2026 – HART induction week.
