Are you passionate about making a difference and skilled in online sales? We are looking for a motivated Online Sales Assistant to support our charity’s online shop and help generate vital income that supports our life-saving work.
Location: Speke
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £24,544 per annum
Overall purpose of the role: The Online Sales Assistant is responsible for selling donated and new stock online to maximise profit for the Charity. Organise products in the warehouse, photograph, list and accurately describe online to advertise and sell. Package and dispatch items to customers.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Effectively process stock, ensuring that accurate records are maintained and any discrepancies are logged and managed.
- Organise product storage in the warehouse in line with procedure.
- Photograph products with the use of a digital camera.
- Research items online to ensure items are listed accurately, with the correct price, and associated search words.
- Catalogue and accurately list products ensuring all details are accurately displayed.
- Respond to customer queries on the telephone and online in a quick and efficient manner, in line with service level expectations.
- Ensure that the number of listings meet the agreed targets and are completed to a high standard.
- Ensure sold products are posted out to customers in an efficient manner, in line with agreed protocols to maximise income and minimise stock holding for the Charity.
- Act as a role model for volunteers, assessing their skills and potential, and training them as needed to ensure that their value is recognised.
- Support marketing campaigns, stock generation and sales promotions to increase sales.
- Ensure that any complaints received are correctly recorded and responded to in line with the agreed protocols and timelines.
- Support the Online Manager in producing reports regarding sales, complaints and the profitability of the online shop.
Person Specification:
Physical: Have the ability to stand/walk around for most of the day.
Experience:
- Experience of selling on eBay.
- Strong experience of using computers for business and social purposes.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety within the Retail sector.
- Experience of meeting set targets.
- Creative with merchandise.
- Gift Aid knowledge.
- Photography experience.
Skills:
- Fast data entry skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Stock management in a small busy team.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- I.T. literate in Word and Excel.
