Welfare and Engagement Officer
To provide support to a designated area of the workforce by being a local contact for delivering critical incident debriefings, resolving welfare issues whilst gathering intelligence about welfare and wellbeing issues. To support delivery of the Force Wellbeing Strategy & promotions and to work alongside the wider HR team to deliver engagement plans.
You will be required to demonstrate in your application the minimum requirement for the role:
- Experience and understanding of traumatic situations and their potential impact on individuals;
- The ability to build a rapport and engage with individuals and teams at all levels;
- Able to demonstrate openness and empathy in dealing with people;
- Excellent communication skills;
- An Understanding of mental health and wellbeing issues and the factors that contribute to these;
- Understanding the application of confidentiality;
- Experience of delivering training, briefings and awareness sessions to a variety of different people and groups;
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively;
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
- Good record keeping skills and attention to detail;
- Be willing to successfully complete the North Wales Police training in Critical Incident ESTIP Debrief Model;
- Good IT skills, including evidence of use of Microsoft Office programs;
- Full driving licence and ability to travel within the Force area.
