The predicted salary is between 25000 - 32000 £ per year.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Forensic Collision Investigator to work within our Forensic Collisions Team. As a trainee, you will be conducting, with supervision, detailed investigations into fatal/life threatening and any other incidents involving motor vehicles. To do so you will apply mathematical principles to determine their cause. You will support and assist in securing the environment, where the public can use the road with confidence. You will also support internal and external customers ensuring forensic processes and policies are adhered to.
We will provide significant training, both locally and residential away from North Wales so you are supported and confident in the role. You will be required to undertake a minimum of 18 hours per annum for your continued professional development, this will be significantly more in the first few years as we are looking for someone who will work towards gaining a suitable qualification at NVQ 4, or relevant equivalent further education qualification, and/or has an equivalent amount of relevant work experience. You should also have a proven mathematical ability.
QualificationsYou will be required to demonstrate in your application the minimum requirement for the role:
- Ideally either hold a degree or equivalent demonstrable experience in Maths, Science or Engineering AND be willing to work towards further qualifications at NVQ 4, or relevant equivalent further education qualification.
- To have a proven mathematical ability demonstrated by achieving a minimum of 70% by assessment (0/A level equivalent).
- A strong understanding of basic mathematics & science at a minimum of A level or above.
- Have good communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Able to work under pressure in stressful situations, to organise and prioritise workloads and achieve objectives within set timelines.
- To hold a current full driving licence and preferably also hold licences for Large Goods Vehicle, PCV and/or motorcycle.
- To be computer literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- To possess a practical ability or aptitude in relation to the examination of motor vehicles, their design, technology, construction and handling characteristics.
- Be able to present complex principles in court and other environments to ensure the understanding of a lay audience.
- Experience/Understanding of ISO accreditation ideally in a forensic environment.
