About the Role
As Income Officer you will thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment, where your problem-solving skills and ability to communicate clearly will make a real impact every day. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing arrears cases, negotiating payment arrangements and chasing all failed payments in the patch allocated (Ynys Môn / Gwynedd) up to the point of transfer to the Income Legal Officer
- Conducting pre-tenancy work and providing money advice, assisting applicants with Housing Benefit and Universal Credit forms and claims with the local authority or DWP
- Processing legal notices and assisting with the management of court order cases to tenants with substantial arrears as per the pre court protocol to support legal claims
- Providing the Income Manager with performance information relating to Income collection and tenant engagement, highlighting any areas of deprivation or where there is a cluster of arrears
About You
We're looking for someone who is confident, compassionate, and driven to make a difference. You will be a confident Welsh speaker, able to communicate professionally in Welsh as part of your day-to-day role.
Essential requirements:
- Level 3 Chartered Institute of Housing or equivalent experience
- Understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements for rental income
- Understanding of arrears recovery and Court procedures
- Demonstrable experience of working in an office environment
- Demonstrable experience of case management
- Developed problem solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently and to deadlines
- Ability to work flexible hours if required
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
- Confident to converse in Welsh
