Procurement Apprentice (Buyer)

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the country's leading Fire and Rescue Services as a Procurement Apprentice (Buyer).
Based at our Technical Hub at Queens Meadow in Hartlepool, this apprenticeship combines on-the-job learning with the opportunity to study an internationally recognised procurement qualification with the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Level 2 and Level 3.
The Apprentice will work as part of the Brigades Procurement Team who are involved in a wide range of sourcing activity and the managing of the organisation's strategic high value and high-risk contract agreements. The team is working on securing a more strategic role for procurement which ultimately will provide a framework for best value and continuous improvement
You will need to have GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), a business qualification is desirable. You must also be ICT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft programmes. Successful candidates should have the ability to multi-task and be prepared to undertake training and development in Procurement.
