Could you support young people on their journey into adulthood? Future Foundations (North Tyneside Leaving Care Team) are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to join our team as a full time Personal Advisor. This is an active and varied role offering support and guidance to care experienced young people between the ages of 17 and 25. Emphasis is on direct work with young people to develop the skills and networks needed to fulfil their aspirations, develop resilience and move forward into adulthood.
Responsibilities
- The Personal Advisor acts as a lead professional to ensure the young person's needs are met, that their Pathway Plan identifies targets and that recordings evidence actions and progress in achieving positive outcomes.
- Each Personal Advisor has a caseload of young people as well as undertaking a duty rota to support young people across the service.
- The role requires excellent organisational and networking skills to meet targets related to record keeping and reviews, and to ensure services are accessed to best meet the needs of the young person.
- The successful candidate will be confident in providing guidance and challenge where appropriate and be skilled in forming positive professional relationships with young people and colleagues.
- The Personal Advisor is responsible for their own caseload and required to work autonomously and as part of a team; lone working and community based working are key characteristics of the role and travel may be required locally and nationally to undertake visits to young people.
Qualifications
- Experience in working with young people of this age range and ability to use computer systems are essential requirements of the role.
- Knowledge of the legislative framework underpinning direct work with children and young people is an advantage.
- The postholder must have a full UK driving licence and have a vehicle with business insurance to use for work purposes.
- The post requires an Enhanced DBS check for the Child and Adult Workforces.
