Overview

Asset & Facilities Technician – Permanent, Full time (37 hours per week). Location: North Tyneside.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out upkeep and repair duties across assets, including plumbing works, building repairs, and green space maintenance.
  • Identify the need for repairs, respond to maintenance requests, complete building statutory compliance activities, and service a range of equipment.
  • Read drawings and identify all necessary materials to carry out the work.
  • Work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards.
  • Carry out compliance activities across the council\’s commercial property assets; provide excellent customer care and consistently deliver high quality work.
  • Work as part of a committed team of skilled trades personnel; multi-skill where appropriate. A good understanding of working in a Local Authority or the social housing sector is desirable.
  • Access to a van to carry out duties.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Background and up to date qualifications as a Plumber.
  • Skilled and hard-working with outstanding problem-solving abilities; good physical stamina and strong technical knowledge.
  • Excellent customer care skills; able to deliver high quality work.
  • Experience of multi-skilling and reading drawings; able to identify materials required.
  • Understanding of working in a Local Authority or in the social housing sector is preferred.
