Are you interested in making a difference to the lives of unpaid carers across the North of Tyne area? North Tyneside Carers’ Centre, Newcastle Carers and Carers Northumberland are working together to help unpaid carers across the North of Tyne into employment—and to support local employers to become more carer-aware and carer-friendly.

Funding for this post is confirmed until 31 March 2027, and discussions are underway to secure longer-term funding. In this role you’ll build relationships with employers across the North of Tyne, helping them understand unpaid caring, the impact it can have at work, and what good support looks like in practice. You’ll encourage positive change, including guidance around employers’ responsibilities (for example, the Carer’s Leave Act), and help workplaces identify practical, flexible solutions that enable carers to thrive.

To succeed, you’ll have at least two years’ experience in an employer engagement or employability-focused role, and you’ll be confident communicating with small, medium and large organisations to influence change. Knowledge of the North of Tyne labour market is desirable. You’ll bring a strong commitment to inclusive team-working, alongside a flexible and innovative approach. Excellent organisation and IT skills, plus strong interpersonal skills, are essential.

This post involves regular travel across the North of Tyne area, so access to a car and a full driving licence are essential.

Full time – 37 hours per week

Salary – £31,500 per annum
