Inclusion Isle of Wight Drug and Alcohol team have a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Clinical Lead with current UK NMC professional registration in Mental Health to join us in directing clinical pathways. You will be qualified as a non-medical prescriber and have significant experience of managing services in Substance Misuse and in co-ordinating all aspects of community clinical delivery including detox and tackling health inequalities is vital, but importantly we are looking for a leader to drive forward evidence-based change and continuous professional and practice development.

We are also delighted to offer a short-term recruitment and retention incentive for this role of £3,777 in addition to the Agenda for Change (AfC) pay scale. This would be reviewed on an annual basis. A relocation package is available up to £8,000. Subject to negotiation. We may also consider some support with commuting costs should you be travelling from the mainland to the Isle of Wight on a daily basis. Main duties of the job

As the clinical lead, you will manage all clinical and prescribing activities and processes and will play a central role in embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement and risk management across services. As part of this role, you will be expected to:

  • Provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence and expertise in substance misuse work to whom staff and patients can call upon for assistance, advice and support.
  • Act as a key channel of liaison and communication between service locations and the external environment.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to Nurses in specialist clinical roles.
  • Develop the role of the NMP and work with the Trust and Inclusion's clinical manager in increasing NMP numbers.
  • Be responsible and accountable for clinical governance throughout Inclusion IOW, to ensure that clinical governance systems are robust and continuously reviewed and to feedback to the Trust Clinical Governance committee when needed.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures; to ensure the dissemination of new standards, policies and statutory requirements relating to this area of work.
  • Produce reports in line with NDTMS and our SLA targets set by commissioners.
