Our CYPS Community Team in Northeast Hampshire (covering Hart & Rushmoor) is a highly supportive, friendly, and innovative service. Guided by the i-THRIVE framework, we focus on providing Getting More Help and Risk Support to children and young people. As Clinical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping care delivery, ensuring high standards of practice, and fostering collaboration across the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to provide leadership and management support within our CYPS Community Team in Northeast Hampshire. This is a dynamic and varied role, offering the opportunity to make a real impact on the delivery of care across the locality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with providing overall leadership and management support to the CYPS Community Team.
  • Supervising and guiding colleagues to ensure high standards of clinical practice.
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships across services in Northeast Hampshire.
  • Working in close partnership with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and senior leadership to deliver integrated, patient‑focused care.
  • Manage a caseload of young people for assessment, interventions and supporting the Duty system.

Job responsibilities

  • Working closely with the General Manager and multidisciplinary team to develop and improve services.
  • Coordinating assessment clinics and responding to urgent mental health needs.
  • Providing line management, clinical supervision, advice, and consultation to colleagues.
  • Liaising with agencies and services within the locality to ensure joined-up care.
  • Supporting service development in line with national standards, local priorities, and financial frameworks.
  • Promoting continuous quality improvement, safeguarding, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Maintaining a small clinical caseload of complex young people.
  • Deputising for the General Manager when required.

This role requires strong skills in clinical assessment, crisis and risk management, safeguarding, and interagency liaison, alongside the ability to operate with professional autonomy while working collaboratively.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Clinical qualification at Degree level or above in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with NMC/HCPC/SWE.
  • Diploma level specialist training, experience, and short courses in the areas of child development, attachment or family functioning.

Experience

  • Sound experience of working with CYP with a variety of mental health issues.
  • Demonstrable expertise in complex assessment of people with both mental and physical health issues.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop practical innovations and approaches to issues and complex problems.
  • Expertise and experience in supervision and supporting the growth of other staff.
  • Proven ability to provide training and education regarding mental health and complex clinical topics.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£50,008 to £56,908 a year Incl 5% Fringe HCAS, pa, pro rata.
