The Northern & Yorkshire NHS Assessment Centre is a Regional Outpost hosted by the LLP of North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and is responsible for meeting identified training and development needs of the Estates Apprentices within the boundaries of NHS Employers using the Assessment Centre. The postholder will be responsible for assisting in the day to day running of the Centre, organising and carrying out apprentice reviews, monitoring progress and achievement. Contribute and deliver training to meet the needs of the Apprenticeship Standards and Centre. Work with a variety of organisations to deliver high quality work and will be required to interpret national, regional and local policies in relation to the training and development environment. This post has a wide range of duties and skills from management duties to admin work and the ability to work flexibly and have good organisational skills is crucial. To undertake managerial and admin duties in support of the RT&DM and be able to work autonomously.
Main duties of the job:
- Carry out regular appraisals for apprentices, ensuring business goals are clearly communicated and linked to objectives.
- Review training and development of apprentices and support them in achieving their full potential.
- Supervisory management of apprentices based within various NHS Employers within the Region, including review of progress meetings, pastoral care and dealing with any problems of competency or production.
- Carry out recruitment for both apprenticeships and the placement of any temporary staff within the Assessment Centre.

Job responsibilities:
- Monitor and update a funding contract with the Education Skills Funding Council (ESFA) and NHS England.
- Conduct review meetings with clients, including Senior Managers in NHS Trusts/Organisations, College staff, to monitor contractual agreements with the Assessment Centre.
- Monitor Training Agreements with sub-contractors, including Training Centres, Further Education Centres and Universities, and carry out monitoring visits to ensure compliance with their contractual obligations meeting training requirements and health and safety.
- Monitor contractually obligated Health & Safety audits of all training providers and sub-contractors associated with the Assessment Centre, with particular regard to legislature relating to under 18s, complete the necessary records and provide reports, including addressing any identified concerns and negotiating solutions, to the MRG and ESFA as necessary.
- Implement the purchase of goods and services to the Assessment Centre; ensure that all purchases are within the Centre's financial remit.
- Assist in the preparation and monitor of the Assessment Centre's Reports and Self Assessment Plan/Quality Plans and implement/introduce changes and improvements where necessary, as agreed with the Regional Training & Development Manager and the MRG.
- Participate in Ofsted inspections or audits associated with apprenticeship requirements.
- Assist in the organisation of relevant seminars including ensuring speakers are confirmed and venues prepared.
- Delivery of induction courses and other relevant training.
Qualifications:
- Business Studies, Counselling or equivalent Assessor, trainer or engineering.
Experience:
- Use of computer packages.
- Use of computerised and digital systems.
- Experience in working in a training environment.
- Experience working in the healthcare organisation.
- Experience in purchasing environment.
- Good team player.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
