Overview
To undertake a full range of duties in support of and supervised by a registered general nurse, including setting up and working in endoscopy procedure rooms, preparing and handling equipment, replenishing stock and other general duties. Work in recovery and in the admission and discharge of patients to ensure optimal care delivery within Endoscopy services to the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust now form University Hospitals Tees, and as such you may be required to work at any site across both Trusts.
Responsibilities
- Set up and work in endoscopy procedure rooms, prepare and handle equipment, and replenish stock.
- Provide support in recovery and in the admission and discharge of patients, ensuring high‑quality care within Endoscopy services.
- Work alongside a registered nurse and escalate patient care when required in a safe and timely manner.
- Work across all areas of the Endoscopy unit, including procedure rooms, recovery, and admission/discharge.
Qualifications / Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and use own initiative.
- Ability to work well as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
