Overview
To undertake a full range of duties working in support of and supervised by a registered general nurse, including setting up and working in endoscopy procedure rooms, preparing and handling of equipment, replenishing stock and other general duties. Working in recovery and admission and discharge of patients ensuring optimal care delivery within Endoscopy services to the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS trust. Our aim is to ensure each and every patient receives the highest quality, evidence based care in a clean and safe environment.
In order to do so the post holder must complete and be signed off of the local competency pack within a specified time frame.
Responsibilities
- Work in endoscopy areas including procedure rooms, recovery and admission/discharge to ensure quality patient care and safe environment.
- Set up and work with endoscopy equipment, handle and replenish stock as required.
- Provide support under the supervision of a registered nurse and escalate patient care when required in a safe and timely manner.
- Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver care.
- Assist in the delivery of care across all areas of the Endoscopy unit under supervision.

- DBS clearance: It is the policy of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who are new to the Trust and require DBS clearance are required to pay the cost for their DBS certificate. The payment method is via salary deduction from your first month\’s pay on commencement with the Trust. The DBS check will be undertaken during the pre-employment check screening.
- New Starters – Probationary Period: For any new employees you will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period. Internal applications and individuals appointed to fixed term appointments under 6 months are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant already part way through a probationary period or a bank staff member).

- Working Hours: If the advertised hours are up to full time (37.5 hours per week), applications are welcome from those seeking less than full time; all requests will be considered in line with the post being appointed to for the successful applicant.

- Site flexibility: South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust form University Hospitals Tees, so you may be required to work at any site across both Trusts.
