Overview
We are looking to recruit a part-time Receptionist to join our friendly Practice team in Romford. We are using EMIS web as our clinical system.
Responsibilities
- Provide a courteous and professional reception service to patients and surgery staff face to face and over the telephone.
- Demonstrate a proactive, can-do attitude in a busy clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Medical Receptionist with initiative, drive, strong interpersonal, administrative and IT skills.
- Experience as NHS receptionist is not essential, but a previous public-facing administration/reception role in a busy environment is an advantage.
- A good command of spoken and written English is essential.
About the Practice
North Street Medical Care is a high achieving surgery with 21,150 patients over two sites: North Street Practice and the Chadwell Heath Health Centre in Ashton Gardens. The position is based at North Street, but the candidate may be asked to help cover reception at the Health Centre in Ashton Gardens on occasions. The North Street Medical team includes 5 GP partners, salaried GPs, nurses, ANP, Clinical Pharmacists, Health Care Assistant, Physician Associate and Advanced Paramedic Practitioners.

- Hours: 24.5 hours per week across four days: Monday 14:30–18:30 (4 hours), Tuesday 08:00–14:00 (6 hours), Wednesday 08:00–18:30 (9.5 hours, 1-hour unpaid lunch break), Thursday 13:30–18:30 (5 hours).
- Occasional Sundays and Bank Holidays as required on mutual prior agreement.
- Pay rate: £12.40 per hour.
