Overview
Main Purpose Of Job: Advising, monitoring and supporting QHSE activities as directed by Management.

- DIVISION: North Star Shipping/BPOS
- LOCATION: Aberdeen or Lowestoft
- HOURS: 37.5 (+ weekend rota)
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the Group QHSE Manager.
Key Work Areas / Responsibilities
- Attend any vessel or onshore facility as required.
- Carry out in-house training as directed onshore or onboard company vessels.
- Carry out general coaching and instruction with regard to QHSE matters onshore or on board the vessels.
- Ensure all personnel are aware of the requirement to wear the correct and suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) required for the task to be or being undertaken.
- Assist with informal seminars and training workshops for seagoing staff and shore staff, in conjunction with other QHSE department members.
- Assist Management, including vessel officers, with areas of QHSSE responsibility if seen to be lacking.
- Undertake audits as requested.
- Facilitate internal and external QHSSE audits as required.
- Investigate and report accidents and incidents in accordance with company and legislative requirements, as applicable.
- Provide coverage to Operations Departments as and when required.
- Monitor reporting of accidents or dangerous occurrences where directed.
- Manage the gathering, recording, analysis and dissemination of safety data and statistics where directed.
- Actively promote and progress the company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.
- Actively promote inter-departmental communications.
- Assist in Emergency Response Team when required.
- Stop the job when required.
- Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by Management.

Daily Communication with Management, Crews, operational, technical departments and onshore divisions as directed, both verbal and written.
Qualifications / Training
- Knowledge of Shipping Industry & associated systems and legislation
- Nebosh National General Certificate
- Audit experience
- Knowledge of: PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR, COSHH and other associated onshore legislation
- Computer skills
