Our client’s business has a number of offices across Scotland and is growing through new client wins, small acquisitions and superb client retention. The firm works with an interesting mix of owner‑managed businesses, SMBs, micro‑entities and NFPs in a number of sectors. This is a new role driven by growth.
To be considered you need to be a qualified Accountant, or possibly an ambitious P/Q and you will have UK Practice experience (essential) – ideally from a small or mid‑tier firm.
What you’ll be doing:
- Client advisory work
- Statutory accounts in full and abbreviated, including FRS105 & FRS102
- Corporation tax calculations, CT600, filings
- Prepare VAT submissions
- Liaise with payroll teams on behalf of clients
- Monthly/quarterly/ad hoc management accounts preparation including P&Ls
- Client meetings
- Scheduling and timetabling of work
- Communicating with HMRC – queries/payment plans/VAT registrations/etc
Experience with Sage and Xero is an advantage. As well as delivering accountancy services and advice to your own portfolio of clients, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor less experienced colleagues including studiers. As the Practice grows, there will be an opportunity to step into a Business or Client Manager role.
You must currently hold the right to work in the UK. There is no sponsorship or visa support available for this job. Should live within the catchment area for ease of commute to the office.
