North Star Children's Homes operates in Surrey and Berkshire. We are pioneering new solutions for children's residential social care in educationally thoughtful and beautiful homes.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Home Manager who is or is ready to become a Registered Manager to be appointed for a beautiful home providing care for children with EBD. This is a full-time on-site role as a Registered Manager in a home for children.
The Registered Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensuring the well-being and safety of the children, managing staff, and implementing care plans. The role involves working closely with external stakeholders and promoting a positive and nurturing environment for the children. The Registered Manager will be strongly supported by a team of top-class experts including full-time RI, commercial, administrative, placement and regulatory consultant level inputs.
At least two years of experience in managing or leading a children's residential care home is essential.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection laws
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic interventions
- Relevant qualification in social work, child care
- Evidenced ability to build relationships with children who have not experienced stable relationships in the past
- Provide good leadership to the staff team, and work with them to overcome the difficulties they may face in helping children to thrive and stay safe
- Use their skills in multi-disciplinary working to coordinate the completion and delivery of a child’s care plan
- Challenge the contribution of colleagues to get children the help that they need, or to further promote children’s aspirations
This is an exceptional and different opportunity for career growth within an exceptional, caring and kind company. After a minimum of two years, we would encourage promotion to the role of RI or Regional Care Director to supervise, train and support our RM's, home managers and team leaders. Bonuses will be non-discretionary and contractually performance linked to Ofsted ratings and placement success, including occupancy, home stability and of course most importantly the kids' safety and happiness.
Salary plus bonuses plus benefits in excess of £100,000 p.a.
