Join Our Team

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated and committed Safeguarding Officer to play a pivotal role in promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of all pupils across our school.

Working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), in particular the assistant head (DDSL) senior leaders, staff, parents and external agencies, you will support the effective implementation of safeguarding procedures and ensure that children receive the support and protection they need to succeed.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong safeguarding knowledge, exceptional communication skills and a passion for improving outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in all aspects of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Manage and maintain accurate safeguarding records and documentation.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality and welfare concerns, identifying and responding to emerging risks.
  • Liaise effectively with children, families, social care, health professionals and other agencies.
  • Attend and contribute to safeguarding meetings, child protection conferences and multi-agency meetings as required.
  • Support in providing advice and guidance to staff on safeguarding concerns and referral processes.
  • Support early intervention and pastoral strategies to improve pupil wellbeing and engagement.
  • Contribute to safeguarding audits, policy reviews and compliance activities.
  • Help promote a strong safeguarding culture throughout the school.

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of safeguarding legislation and child protection procedures.
  • Possess excellent organisational, administrative and record-keeping skills.

  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
  • Be resilient, proactive and committed to achieving the best outcomes for children.
  • Be capable of working independently and as part of a team.
