Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Technician role based in Weston-Super-Mare. The HGV Technician will carry out routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy goods vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Daily tasks include scheduled servicing, oil changes, brake and suspension checks, and addressing mechanical faults in a timely and efficient manner. The role involves maintaining accurate service records, reporting issues, and working closely with the operations team to minimize vehicle downtime. The technician will also contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance practices, support a safe workshop environment, and uphold NSEC’s commitment to high-quality, environmentally responsible service delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for heavy goods vehicles.
- Proficiency in routine servicing tasks such as Oil Changes and general hgv Repair.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing Suspension and other safety-critical vehicle systems.
- Recognized automotive or HGV technician qualification (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Previous experience working with HGVs or commercial vehicles in a workshop or fleet environment.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards, compliance requirements, and best practices for vehicle inspections.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, follow technical manuals, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to support environmentally responsible practices and NSEC’s sustainability-focused mission.
