We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic practising solicitor or Fellow Chartered Legal Executive to join our Property and Contracts Team.
The role
You will provide high quality legal advice and undertake a wide range of work, including complex matters, for:
- Conveyancing and property related work
- S106 planning agreements, including deeds of variation and modification
- Services agreements including for high value services.
This is your opportunity to deal with wide ranging, complex and interesting legal work and to make a positive difference to the Council and its residents and join a team of friendly and experienced lawyers.
A valid driving licence and own transport or being able to provide an alternative suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
Salary: Level 10 - £49,282 to £54,495 per annum
Hours: 37 Per week
Basis: Full time
Package: Permanent
Annual Leave: 29 days annual leave per annum, rising to 34 days per annum after 5 years' service

About you
You will have:
- Excellent working knowledge and practical experience of dealing with all types of complex property related matters, s106 planning agreements and services agreements.
- Experience of drafting, negotiating, and completing legal documents and the ability to give clear and accurate legal advice.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work under pressure, able to prioritise your workload to meet client requirements.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, be enthusiastic and self-motivated.
- Competent ICT skills with good keyboard skills.
- You will be a practising solicitor or a Fellow Chartered Legal Executive.
Work style
We offer a hybrid working environment which means you can expect to work from the office but also remotely as agreed with your line manager. This post does entail working regularly from our office in Weston-super-Mare.
