We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual School Adviser to join our Virtual School. The Virtual School is responsible for ensuring that all Children in Care have access to high-quality education, which is regularly monitored through the termly PEP process. In this role, you will attend the termly PEP meetings for Children in Care, ensuring a strong, positive contribution from Children’s Social Care and school colleagues. You will ensure that the right interventions are in place and approve the Pupil Premium Plus spend to further raise outcomes for our Children in Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend termly PEP meetings
  • Challenge schools and provisions to improve outcomes
  • Provide training and support for trauma awareness
  • Contribute to statutory plans such as EHCPs
  • Be a strong, positive contributor to the Virtual School team

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Valid driving licence and own transport, or an alternative suitable method of travel, are essential for this role.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience of teaching at the relevant key stage
  • Experience with Virtual School or working with Designated Teachers
  • Experience in pastoral work or working with vulnerable children

  • Experience of trauma
