North Scout are working with a well-established organisation on a major reporting and migration programme, and they\’re looking for an experienced Data Tester to join their team. You\’ll play a key role in making sure reports built in Power BI are accurate, reliable, and perform as expected.

This is a fully remote permanent role, perfect for someone who enjoys getting stuck into the detail and ensuring data is exactly as it should be.

What you\’ll be doing:

• Testing data on platform builds to make sure transformations are accurate and match the expected logic.
• Comparing legacy reports with new Power BI versions to ensure metrics and outputs line up.
• Checking Power BI dashboards, including filters, visuals, and user flows, to make sure everything works as intended.
• Writing and running test scripts, both manual and SQL-based, to validate data quality and report outputs.
• Logging issues in Azure DevOps, with clear steps and evidence for the engineering team.
• Keeping an eye on report performance, load times, and real-world usage to make sure dashboards stand up under pressure.

What we\’re looking for:

• Strong technical knowledge of data structures, SQL querying, and report logic.
• Confident using Excel to interrogate data and check outputs.
• Experience with Power BI, particularly from a testing or QA perspective.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar for tracking test coverage, bugs, and documentation.
• A methodical, proactive approach, you know how to dig into the detail and aren\’t afraid to question anything that looks off.
