Job Overview

North Ridge is an outstanding specialist high school for pupils aged 11-19 with persistent and complex special educational needs. The school is split across two sites and incorporates a range of student‑led businesses, located at our 6th Form Hub in Cheetham Hill. The leadership team and governors seek a dynamic, hard‑working teacher who can live up to our school motto of "do your best".

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead your own class or a small group of classes in a primary school model.
  • Teach pupils with a range of learning disabilities and associated needs.
  • Deliver active, practical lessons via a spiral curriculum that builds and reinforces knowledge through repetition and exploration.
  • If not an Early Career Teacher (ECT), act as a curriculum coordinator, leading whole‑school development in a subject area.
  • Support and collaborate with a team of experienced professionals.
  • Work to nurture each child’s individuality and enthusiasm for life.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Qualified Teacher 1 SEN point (Candidates on UPS will be considered).
  • Experience teaching in primary and secondary settings, both SEN and mainstream.
  • Experience with pupils having learning disabilities and associated needs.
