Responsibilities
The leadership team and school governors seek a dynamic, hardworking teacher to live up to the school motto of “do your best”. The candidate will teach pupils with a range of learning disabilities and associated needs, with more experience working with pupils with PMLD. You will lead your own class or a small group of classes (similar to a primary school model) tailored to your strengths and passions. Students range from Early Years to Year 3; your teaching will be dynamic, hands‑on, and imaginative, bringing learning to life through active, practical lessons delivered via a spiral curriculum that builds knowledge through repetition and exploration. If you are not an Early Career Teacher (ECT), you will also assume the role of curriculum coordinator, leading whole‑school development in a subject area. You will be supported by experienced professionals and benefit from staff development and training programmes designed to help you flourish. Your impact extends beyond the classroom, as you help pupils grow into confident young adults, equipping them with the social and life skills needed to thrive in their communities. At the heart of your role is a commitment to nurturing each child’s individuality and zest for life.
